I am so excited to bring you my celebration of Pineapple Day! In our house, we are huge pineapple lovers but not for why you think! We are big time Spongebob fans! We have a serious love for that silly little sponge and the little pineapple he lives in. I even designed a Fluffy Pineapple Keychain a few years ago because of the pineapple love!
To celebrate Pineapple Day today, I wanted to come up with a fun little craft and inspiration hit upon a Pinterest search for “Pineapple Quilts”.
I saw so many traditionally pieced patterns and thought “how can I make it different?” and remembered my Little Woven Basket Pattern! That woven technique worked perfectly for the textured look of a pineapple!
This pattern is both woven and appliqué and is seriously scrap friendly! I was able to dig through all my scraps to find the yellow bits!
It also leaves many options for quilting! You can stitch around simply like I did or have a little fun!
