Welcome to week 4, the second last week of January and just a week away from our first blog giveaway! This week I did a lot of creating, sewing, altering and crafting. As promised I made 2 I Think Sew items but I also worked on a tote bag for my mother for work as well as replacing a sweater zipper. It was a very busy week!

First up I’ll show you the Alanis Clutch. This is a nice little fancy clutch that would be perfect for a night out or a special event. I found this pretty royal blue and silvery grey fabric for only $1/metre this week and knew right away it was perfect for this little clutch!

I loved making this little clutch. I used the smallest pattern size and it’s the perfect night out size. I think the larger sizes could almost be considered small purses so I am looking forward to making them as well! The small buckle has the perfect amount of bling and will stay in place by the addition of a few little stitches on the flap.

The next pattern I used was the Leslie Bag. Again I found this fabric for only a $1/metre only this one was just purchased because I loved the colours. It’s not my typical patterned fabric but it seemed nice and summery! Now I know there will be people that will love this bag but for me I’d probably use it as a reusable shopping bag.

It’s a very cute bag and folds up quite nicely. The straps can be adjusted by the knot and it’s incredibly roomy and will hold quite a lot! For someone who prefers a roomy bag or more of the “hobo style” this would be perfect!
The last thing I made this week is a tote for my mom to carry her work supplies. My mother is an in-home PSW and needs to carry her supplies/shoes with her to each location. She sent me all the dimensions for the things she carries and told me to get creative with it! My mom is also a seamstress, but knew she wouldn’t take the time I would when designing a bag for her! This bag has 3 outer pockets, 3 inner pockets and a spot for her waterbottle as well.

Zippered pocket, open pockets and elastic water bottle pocket!
This tote was my own design. I lined the entire bag with a fusible fleece so it will keep the boxy shape but is still soft to the touch. I did a basic adjustable strap so she can carry it over her shoulder or across her body. I also made up this little bag to store her shoes in as well. It has an elastic top for easy acess to her shoes.

My mom loves her knew bag from the photos she has seen so far. She will be picking it up this week so we will see what she thinks when she sees it in person!

For a busy crafty week, I sure enjoyed it! I’m working on the set up for the January giveaway and have decided to offer up an I Think Sew purse from the patterns that I have purchased! I will have all the details posted on the week 5/last week of January post! I have 2 I think Sew patterns left to try so if I am ambitious enough I will work them both up!

Don’t forget the giveaway that is still open on Denise’s blog CLOSED

Let me know what you think of these designs in the comments below.

Have a great and creative week!
