Evening Horizon – Foundation Paper Pieced Pattern
*Cue dance party* It’s pattern release day!!

The Evening Horizon pattern was originally launched at The Quilter’s Bolt for the Northcott Stonehenge Fabrics anniversary. Since it’s release, we’ve seen so many people excited about making this fun and unique take on the fabrics.

We knew while designing the block that we wanted it to be more of an art quilt look and we wanted a sunset. I have to be honest and share with you our first take on the block… It was not pretty! Way too much going on so instead, I’ll be making it into a pillow for my son at his request!

So off I went to design something a little more user-friendly and our design was perfect! Check out some of my tester images below.
Colette created this colourful sunrise version that I just love! I adore her fabric choice for the sun because it truly looks like it is beaming! You can see more of her quilting adventure on Instagram: @rcwfam
Dolores chose some beautiful textures for not only her mountains but sky too! I love how it really gives some movement to the scene! You can follow her quilting journey on her blog at truebluecanadian.blogspot.com.

I just loved seeing this block come to life!
For the online launch, I remade the Evening Horizon in mostly Moda Grunge because honestly, who doesn’t love Grunge? I also made mine into a mini quilt to hang in my studio because it is simply perfect all on its own! (It is also the perfect size for placemats if you want to have a little extra fun at your dining table!)

The Evening Horizon Foundation Paper Pieced Pattern is now available in my shop as a PDF download! I can’t wait to see your blocks come to life!
Happy sewing!
