Stand up clutch

This one is a personal favourite of mine. This pattern comes in 3 different sizes, is fat quarter friendly AND perfect for scraps. The one in this photo is made using fusible fleece to give you an idea of the shape instead of using foam. I promise you will get addicted to make this clutch! Get the pattern from Andrie Designs today! OH! Once you have mastered this pattern, head to my tutorial to see the steps to add a zipper across the top!

Mya Clutch

This gorgeous photo was supplied by Little Moo Designs, who happens to be the designer! This pattern is perfect if you are looking for something with both a strap and flap. It’s easily constructed AND is an easy sew. Place with fabric choices to create a truly unique clutch every time! Head to Little Moo Designs for the Mya Clutch Pattern.

Break The Rules Wristlet

While more for an advanced beginner, this clutch is so fun to make! Don’t be intimated by the “V” front because it is sewn together and cut in a way to create this look. Perfect for Jelly Rolls and again fat quarter friendly, you’ll have fun playing with fabric placement on this one! This pattern is also great to practice sewing vinyl/leather/and cork with by placing it in one of the sections. You can snag this pattern from Emkie Designs shop!

BONUS: The Retreat Bag

I’m inluding this pattern because it’s easy AND free! Head to Emmaline Bags to grab this pattern and pick up your frames while you are there. Those fancy frames are what make this fun shape happen because every stitch is sewn in a straight line! You can even add a strap to this bag to make it a little classier, the Emmaline Bag Patterns Facebook Group has the hack to that option in the files.

Are you ready to step up your Clutch game? Tell me which pattern you are most excited to try next? Next month I will have a round up of my favourite beginner bag patterns that aren’t boring totes!

Tag me on Instagram @lilbirdsdesign if you pick something from this list so I can see your creation!
