The Bubble Time Quilt- Part 2!
Back in June I shared with you the Adventure Time Backpack that I made for my little dude’s birthday. Today I am going to share with you the rest of his gift, his Bubble Time Quilt!
I was graciously given this incredible Spongebob fabric from a friend. The plan was to make it into a quilt! I also had a couple panels that I had been hoarding so pulled them out too! Off I went with my fabric bits to The Quilters Bolt and got some help from the gals.
We found the perfect fabrics to match! The chevrons looked like reefs, the yellow spotted like Spongebob, the green looks just like seaweed and the blue looks like bubbles! I didn’t have a pattern going in and just started with half square triangles. Rather than using a specific design, I made up a colour pattern because my little dude loves math!
His Bubble Time quilt came out *just* big enough for the top of his twin sized bed! Â I even did all the quilting myself and there’s soft squishy wool batting in there!
For the binding, I decided to use the backing. I wasn’t ready at this point to try real binding!

Look at those lines, I’m pretty proud  of those! The backing is a deliciously soft flannel to make it nice and cozy!
He LOVED his quilt and I think if I keep this up, he’s going to get a new backpack and quilt every year! (This was his first backpack!)
