Roald Dahl Day 2018

Roald Dahl Day 2018 - The Little Bird Designs

Happy Roald Dahl Day! In our home, we are big Roahl Dahl lovers, specifically The BFG and Charlie and the Chocolate factory books/movies! When I found out that there was an entire day dedicated to our favourite author, I knew we had to take part! Today we are going to share with you all the ways we are going to celebrate!

Reading

Of course we have to read through one of my personal faves- The BFG. I absolutely loved this book as a child and was thrilled when little man fell in love with it too! I love the sweet love story of the giant and Sophie about friendship. Plus those goofy little words the giant uses are just too much fun!

Movie

As requested by my son, we are going to watch The BFG and if he has his way, Matilda too! We were absolutely thrilled when The BFG movie came out last year and were even more pleased when it stuck so true to the story line! For me, I just loved seeing those giants come to life!

Crafts

We picked a couple of our favourite Roald Dahl quotes and designed a couple bookmarks to print out and make. You can download them in the link below. We punched holes in the top and threaded a ribbon through so they stick out of the book a bit! Roald Dahl had a wild imagination and there were so many fun quotes to choose from so we hope you love the ones we picked!
