It’s week 6 of 52 and my post is actually on time! I even had a chance to finish this craft early as well! This week is a tea towel that I embroidered rather than sewing something!I present to you Mr Hug Bot!

This lovely little Valentines Day robot was stitched up using a pattern from Sublime Stitching. This cute pattern was posted just a little while ago as a freebie so I knew I had to snag him up! He was very quick to stitch up and turned out exactly as I hoped! The entire thing minus his hands are stitched with four threads and the hands with 2 threads. I tried to mix up the stitches as well, and even used a new technique the was posted on the Sublime Stitching blog! The chain stitch she shares from a student is by far the easiest way I have ever seen to make this stitch! If you are an embroiderer you definitely need to check out her site! Here are some close up shots of the stitch details:

As you can see, the outline of the pattern is still there! My tracing pen doesn’t say whether its a fade away or wash away pen so I’m just going to wait until its laundered to worry about it!Our son thinks it’s a pretty cool tea towel and is actually kind of sad that it might get dirty so we will see if this actually gets used!

The tea towel in his new home!
This is a large flour sack tea towel, 31″ x 31″ ! It’s incredibly absorbent and the only downside is that it wrinkles like crazy! I’m pretty pumped to stitch up some more tea towels now that this one is finished. I have about 10 more towels to embroider so who knows what other designs I will find!
On a last note, don’t forget about last weeks post about the giveaway! Only 8 days left in our giveaway for a chance to win a custom handmade bag! Remember you have to comment on that “Week 5” post in order to be counted in the draw! Also be sure to enter the contest on Denise’s blog if you haven’t yet!

We have tons of snow so I will be crafting away the next few days!
Have a fun and creative week everyone!
