I’m so excited to bring you our next PTBO Makes business, (
Eva + Dell) now Eva + Duck! Anne is an incredibly talented friend of mine who lives on a small farm just outside of Millbrook ON with her gorgeous family and abundance of animals!
… with my husband, three children, three dogs, three horses and over three hundred ducks, geese and chickens. I love to frequent antique shops and thrift stores, and I love to make things!
Anne makes some of the sweetest things I have ever seen (and have purchased) and I guarantee you will fall in love with every you see!
What types of items does Eva + Duck offer?
I sew children’s accessories such as bow ties, ties, suspenders, sun hats and bonnets. I also make felt clips and headbands and plan on adding coin purses to my shop soon.
When did you learn your craft?
My mom started to teach me to sew when I was about 10 years old. I continued doing it on and off over the years, but I really got into it once I became pregnant with my son.
What is your favourite thing to make?
I love making bonnets because they are just so darn cute!
What’s one thing you would love to learn?
I really want to learn how to shear sheep and spin their fleece. I also knit and crochet, so making my own fibre would be really cool. We’re moving to a larger farm this summer, and we’ve put a small flock of Shropshires in our five year plan.
Tell me us one random fact that most people don’t know.
My favourite animal (well…group of animals) is the rattlesnake. I could also talk about venom all day. I love that it’s such a contradiction!
Anne is doing a sweet rebrand of farm related gifts. How sweet is this hoop?
Eva and Duck ships worldwide but if you want to see some of her creations in person, find her products at The Quilters Bolt in Millbrook ON.
You can find Anne all over the web:
Thank you Anne for giving us a peek into your business and life. Who else is excited to see what her next batch of bonnets look like?
Our next maker is someone new that I recently discovered on Instagram. Want a hint? She’s a fungi 😉
