3 Ways to FIGHT The Fear of Missing Out!
It happens to the best of us, FOMO, the Fear of Missing out. You can be bustling along just find then bam, you hear someone doing something awesome or wish your now was as awesome as someone else’s middle. We’ve all been there. I’ve been there, am there and am fighting my way out! To fight this FOMO battle I’m working on 3 areas to remind myself that my business, blog and adventure is just as awesome as the next person! I’m taking some time to remember where I came from and where to go from here!
Fight the Fear Of Missing Out
Refocusing
Every once and awhile you gotta step back and look at your business from an outsiders views. It will give you an insight into what is working and what needs to be adjusted. I sat down and made a list of all the projects I want to accomplish, the writing I have sitting deep within me and the activities I want to do with my son and share with you. Just taking those few minutes made me see just how much I CAN do rather than what I’m NOT doing. By giving myself some goals to look forward to, I am able to refocus myself and get back to what I love doing most instead of being envious of what others are doing.
Reconnecting
My brand. It’s more than what I sell, it’s me, my writing and my passion. I am taking some time to reconnect with what my business is and where I want it to go. Sometimes you can get a little lost along the way helping others or wishing you’re branding could be more like “so-and-so’s”. Remember, what you are doing is AWESOME and it is was makes you unique and special. I have a list of things I want to add to my brand and now have set some goals to get achieve them! I’m removing that fear that I am not growing the way others are and have turned it into a love for what I do and my brand.

Self Care
Self Care is so important because it’s easy to feel burnt out or out of touch. Quite often we don’t take the needed time for ourselves. One of the ways I’ve been taking care of myself is by meditating. Don’t worry it’s not as cheesy as it sounds. I take 5 minutes each night with my yoga app and just focus on the quiet of my surroundings, my mind and my body. You will not believe the difference this makes. I also do yoga at home, nothing to crazy, but just enough to stretch out that stress of constantly sitting and sewing/blogging. Also remember, you can’t do it all! By setting limits for yourself and what you do for others, you will be able to better connect with yourself, business, family and everyone else! It is ok to say no once and awhile!
Slowly, I am working on my fear of missing out. It will take time to get back to where I need to be but I will get there. I will continue to remind myself how much I have to offer. To get my groove back, I’ve been writing! I have 3, yes 3 drafts waiting patiently for your eyes to see. I can’t wait to get back to me and ultimately you!
