Welcome to Week 5 of my creative journey, the last week of January’s crafts and our first giveaway!

This week has been an incredibly busy and very crafty week for me. It has also been very exciting! As most of you know I started a Twitter account and have slowly been building up followers. One of the most exciting followers (in my eyes) was Fabricland Ontario! This was a huge deal for me. Almost all my fabric and supplies I use are from Fabricland so to have them follow me seemed pretty awesome. Shortly after I started following them I posted this vintage Singer sewing machine stool cover and tagged them in my tweet.

I have been hoarding this gorgeous fabric for months and have had the cover cut out since I bought it! Shortly after tweeting that I used Fabricland’s fabric they contacted me to see if they could share my stool on their Facebook page, to which I said absolutely! You can see my picture on their page here. I was very excited about this! It’s not everyday that your favourite store contacts you to add your photo to their page, so thank you Fabricland!
Now to continue along with my Fabricland obsession, I worked up the Alex Messenger Bag from I Think Sew in fabric that I have been hoarding for quite a long time! I actually purchased about 3 different colour styles of this fabric because I loved it so much!

I love this bag! I didn’t line it with any interfacing because I wanted it to stay floppy so I could fold it up easily. The pattern was really quick and easy to work up. The only downside is that its a large bag and I am a tiny person so I made it slightly smaller to fit my frame! All of the fabrics are cotton so I can wash it when needed and I will probably use it as a reusable shopping bag!

Before you get the details on this months giveaway, don’t forget to stop over to Denise’s blog and enter her giveaway as well! Only 11 days left in that draw!
