Welcome to week 18! I know I am about 3 weeks behind but a wedding sure takes up a lot of your time! I promise I will share all the photos I can from our wedding, I’m just waiting on a couple more before I publish the post!

This week I finally got back into my crafting groove! I got the urge to craft and finally was able to get some custom orders started and some finished. I also decided that between all the work from the craft shows and making hundreds of things for the wedding that it was time to make something for me! I cut out a huge stack of fabric this week, a custom handbag, some linings for Vanessa from BeadNessand then 8 different items for me! Yes 8 whole items all for myself, I am really spoiling myself for a change!

Today I finished two of the items, a new bag for me and a custom handbag.

My new Lindsey Bag
I introduce to you my Lindsey Bag. Isn’t she just the prettiest! As you can see I used my absolute favourite fabric, Amy Butler. I am in love with this little bag, I even made the buttons myself with some little vintage button making kits I found a Value Village some time ago. This of course is one of the patterns I purchased from I think Sew and was very quick to work up. I have a whole set to be finished that will match this bag, so you will have wait until the set is finished to see more photos of this pretty!Next up is a new adventure to me! Many of you might remember a while back when I posted that I was looking for some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fabric, well I had ZERO luck finding any! Who knew such a popular show would be so hard to find. While browsing Walmart one day we found some awesome “fabric”, a pair of men’s XXL pajama pants and XL boxers! I had never even thought to check but my husband happened to see them and I was sold! My client couldn’t decide which she liked more so we used both for a truly TMNT bag!

This bag is approximately 12 in wide and 8 in tall. I had to use a heavier weight interfacing due to the fabric being an incredibly stretchy jersey fabric. The flap has a heavy duty magnetic snap and the strap is fully adjustable to go from a shoulder bag to cross body also there is a small zippered pocket inside. I am so pleased with how this turned out and because of this one, a new custom order may be in the works but it will be a surprise so you will have to wait to see that one!

So what do you think? This was the first time I have used a non floral/girly pattern on a bag and I think I kind of liked it. I’m tempted to stock up on other super hero/comic book character fabric to make more!Up next for me is my little set to finish up and more custom orders. I am hoping to have my wedding post ready over the weekend so stay tuned for that too!

I hope everyone has a great weekend and if you are like me, enjoying the long weekend, stay safe, wear your SPF and enjoy the sunshine 😉

Happy Crafting!
